What is JEMA ?
The Japan Electrical Manufacturers' Association (JEMA) consists of major Japanese companies in the electrical industry including: power & industrial systems, home appliances and related industries. The products handled by JEMA cover a wide spectrum; from boilers and turbines for power generation to home electrical appliances.
JEMA's Mission
JEMA's goal is to promote the overall development of the electrical equipment, power-generating equipment, nuclear power plant manufacturing and related industries. By this means, it hopes to improve and upgrade the prosperity of the nation and its people and to contribute to the continuing development of the world economy.

The Japan Electrical Manufacturers' Association was instituted in 1948 and was officially approved as juridical in 1954.
Membership
JEMA has a membership of 262 companies.

- Associate members : 90
As of July 2010, the Association has a membership of 263 companies, consisting of 173 regular member companies or organizations engaged in the production of electrical plants and equipment, plus 90 supporting members who endorse the goals of JEMA and endeavor to cooperate with the Association's activities.

Vision
In the light of challenges faced with Japan's electrical machinery industry as well as JEMA's mission and role in the industry, JEMA has established three keywords - Leadership, Innovation and Globalization - as the basis for strengthening the industry's competitiveness and expanding its market.
